...the voice of the sea speaks to the soul...
...yes it's that time again my fellow crafters for CHALLENGE NUMBER 5 over at THAT CRAFT PLACE...the theme for this challenge is 'Oh I DO LIKE TO BE BESIDE THE SEASIDE'...
...for this challenge I have made a Card and a Tag which i'd like to share with you...
...these gorgeous beach huts are Tanda Stamps from a set called Summer Set 1...you get 14 (yes 14!) stamps in this pack so excellent value for money...
...they were gently shaded with Old Paper ink by Tim Holtz, edges distressed and coloured with Tumbled Glass & Wild Honey inks both Tim Holtz...
...the gorgeous background paper is by Crafty Individuals (The Seaside - 24 pages of 6'x6')...
...I'm a lover of driftwood so it only seemed right to add a little piece of Eastbourne's shoreline to this card...the gold beads give a drifting sand look all set upon a roughed up piece of hessian with some little shell embelishments...
...and lastly...no seaside scene would be complete with seagulls...these were simple to make all that I used was a piece of white raffia which was cut to size, twisted and the edges feathered, really simple to do...
...phew...and now for the tag...
...a standardTag was colour washed with Tumbled Glass for this I patted the ink pad onto my craft mat then spritzed with water then placed top half of tag down on to it, lifted and half dried with heat tool, then spritzed with Tattered Angels 'Patina' and finished drying...the bottom half is Wild Honey ink with ageing distress power scattered on top and heat dried...it looks and feels like sand...small glass beads immitate sea foam...
...for the flotsam & jetsam wrapped around the driftwood breakwater I used knarled up hessian and burlap and a few strands of iridescent fibers then added sequines for stones and a few shell embelishments...
...the seagull (same as for the card)...
...a cute driftwood tag stamped with the word summer...
...well you'll probably need a cup of tea after that!!...
...I do hope these pictures get your crafting juices flowing as there is great Blog Candy to be won...so have fun, try new things, step outside your comfort zone and I look forward to seeing all your creations...Mel :)
...the Tanda Stamps and most of the materials I have used on the Card and the Tag are available to buy in store or online from THAT CRAFT SHOP...visit Lisa's Blog...http:/thatcraftplaceblog.blogspot.com/
