...today I'm sharing with you a simple card I've made that fits nicely in for two challenges, both with the colour theme of red, white & blue...
...I hand cut all the piece's of the Union Jack & stuck them on white card, gave them a good buff to get the shabby look...
...the heart was stuck on top of a piece of close weave fabric then upon a square of cardboard, I anchored the fabric with small brads in the corners & wove fine wire around them all to 'frame' the heart...then stamped some flourishes & swirls which was a tad diffiuclt as the textures weren't even, but I think it adds to the shabby look...
...with the Jubilee celebrations getting underway today we probably wont see many Union Jack/Royal crafting makes for a while so it was nice to get this one in, I also made a little wooden hanging heart...
...I'm not the best person at drawing & this outline coulda been better but rubbing it all out & starting again didn't appeal...
...well thats my little tributes to Her Majesty...I'm putting this card in for two challenges, The Artistic Stamper - Red White & Blue & Sunday Stampers wk 208 - Her Majesty...
...hope your all having a wonderful Jubilee weekend, thankyou for stopping by today...

OK, going to have the "lift" the idea of using wire around the brads, really loved that. Had my nose pressed up to the screen to get a good look at it, maybe I need better glasses? lol Anyway, just loved your projects! waving hi from the hills of North Carolina :)
ReplyDeleteI love both your projects today Mel, very appropriate too for today's amazing celebrations! Love the wire around the brads technique. Anne x
ReplyDeleteThis is stunning. Can't believe you cut that Union Jack out by hand! Wow that took a steady hand. You're right, the stamping looks perfectly shabby and the whole thing is a triumph. You would pay a fortune for this in some fancy shops. Hugs, Buttons x
ReplyDeleteI love both of your projects mel. I love the red/white/blue look very appropriate for todays celebrations.

ReplyDeleteAlthough I live across the pond, I have paid tribute to the Queen two days in a row. I was very, very impressed with your card. At first, I thought you sewed the fabric on, then saw you used wire. What a lovely addition.
ReplyDeleteI adore that heart you painted, too. It is so much better than anything I could ever make. Hope your Jubilee weekend is great. I understand you have a two day bank holiday, too.
These creations are outstanding!
ReplyDeleteFabulous artwork Mel. Hand drawn fits in perfectly with the style. Love the addition of the wire to your card. Brilliant. Hope you have a lovely day. Gez.xx
ReplyDeleteLove the shabbiness of the card, that uneven stamping really does fit in rather well with the whole concept and the way you've carried it through onto the material, fabulous.
