BINGO

...creativity takes courage...
- Henri Matisse -

...hello everyone...today I'm sharing with you a Tag I've made using one of Tim Holtz mini texture fades embossing folders...these mini folders are great & are designed especially with ATC's in mind...

...I've also been experimenting some what, trying to get that old rusting plate look...I'm kinda happy for my first go, anyways see what you think, here it is...

...I covered the tag with frayed burlap distress ink, then randomly stamped around the edges with my brand new first ever Tim Holtz stamp set (named Joyful Song) ...

...this bingo ticket is glassine paper, I scrunchled up the edges, then put in the embossing folder, randondomly applied opaque embossing powder, then proceeded to rub in brown, green & black chalk...

...I was hoping to achieve various stages of patina, a few more goes & I'll be there, for the letters I used a bit of gold rub...

...I made a small gnarly flower from stamped tissue paper, added some wire fronds and a wee wooden heart...

...I've added the words 'take a chance on me'...

...thankyou for for stopping by, I hope you've had a wonderful day...

INK HEART

...it is the marriage of the soul with nature that makes the intellect fruitful, and gives birth to imagination...
- Henry David Thoreau -

...hello everyone today i'm sharing with you a wooden block, which can hang or stand alone, I've been waiting for the right piece of wood to come along so I could make this piece, it is picture heavy but I wanted you to see the textures...

...I first painted this block of wood with a chalky white emulsion then added a fine crackle finish, I had to do this 3 times in random area's to get the effect I was looking for...

...once I was happy I then went around the edges with Frayed Burlap, Walnut & Black Soot Distress Inks pushing into the paint, especially in the cracks...

...the layers of crackle give different effects...

...the faux leather straps are held in place with upholstery nails, I had to drill the holes first as these nails are long...

...this plywood heart has had many layers of ink, Barn Door & Black Soot and crackle medium in random patches, again layered...

...I made the wire mesh from scratch with a thick gauge galvanised wire & secured it in place upholstery staples...here is a pick of the mesh before I attached it...

...I'm obsessed with hearts and pleased with the result of this one, I hope you like it...
...I'm putting this in for...

STARS & STRIPES

...creativity is a drug I cannot live without...
- Cecil B Demille -
- 1881-1959 -

...hello everyone, we have a blustery yet sunny day here on the South Coast of England which is also happens to be Father's Day...

...the Tag I've made today is totally different from what I've done before, I started with no real idea in my head other than I wanted a heart somewhere and this is where it lead me...

...I stamped tissue paper with music notes then covered the lot in Barn Door DI, heat dried then tore in random strips which I glued to my tag, I followed the edges with some blue chalk, then lightly dusted over the entire tag with Pumice Stone DI...

...the stars were cut freestyle and coated in Star Dust Stickles...the hanger is garden jute & I added a star charm...

...I covered a wooden heart with the remainder of the stamped tissue and gave that lashings of Barn Door DI, then added a sentiment...

...the wings were given a light coating of off white emulsion paint the crackle glazed in matt, the tips in Walnut...

...I can't make my mind up about this tag at all but I'm happy with the wings!...loVe it or hate it your opinions would be nice...
...wishing you all a wonderful day what ever your up to...

YOU'RE THE ONE

...act without expectation...
- Lao Tzu -

...hello everyone hope you've had a loVely weekend...
...today I'm sharing with you  a Tag and it's all about texture...

...the background paper is from Tim's Idea-ology pad, which was subtly inked with Tumbled Glass, the cage was inked in the same & had a variety of embossing powders randomly added & heated...

... various cogs n washers were added, some embossed some just inked...

...this bird (not sure if a Crow or a Rook?) was inked in Black Soot then embossed & given a beady eye, which is a black crystal earring! these birds always seem have beady watching eyes...

...instead of ribbon I have chosen some fine pliable jewellry wire as the hanger for this Tag...

...this is a Tim Holtz sentiment inked onto torn white card brushed over with Frayed Burlap...

...I enjoyed making this Tag hope you like it, I'm entering it for two challenges...

BLUE BROWN BLING

...some people look for a beautiful place, others make a place beautiful...
- Hazrat Inayat Khan -

...hello everyone today I'm sharing with you a card that was made as part of our monthly swap over at May's...the theme this month was blue, brown & bling...

...I've used Tim's Heart Wings Die for this project, I used various blues in watercolour for the background then added a square of plastic (the Die packaging) & secured it in place with some small silver brads which I wrapped fine jewellry wire around to create a frame...

...I embossed the heart in aged silver & added chipped glitter...

...loVe this heart...

...I double layered the wings, the base wing is grunge board inked with walnut and randomly coated in glossy accents, the top wing is glassine paper again coated in walnut & scrunchled and left rough, attached by a staple...

...this is such a versatile Die & the glassine paper gives good effect, I hope you like :) ...

...thank you for dropping by today, your comments mean a lot to me...

RED, WHITE & BLUE

...the art of being happy lies in the power of extracting happiness from common things...
-Henry Ward Beecher-

...today I'm sharing with you a simple card I've made that fits nicely in for two challenges, both with the colour theme of red, white & blue...

...I hand cut all the piece's of the Union Jack & stuck them on white card, gave them a good buff to get the shabby look...

...the heart was stuck on top of a piece of close weave fabric then upon a square of cardboard, I anchored the fabric with small brads  in the corners & wove fine wire around them all to 'frame' the heart...then stamped some flourishes & swirls which was a tad diffiuclt as the textures weren't even, but I think it adds to the shabby look...

...with the Jubilee celebrations getting underway today we probably wont see many Union Jack/Royal crafting makes for a while so it was nice to get this one in, I also made a little wooden hanging heart...

...I'm not the best person at drawing & this outline coulda been better but rubbing it all out & starting again didn't appeal...

...well thats my little tributes to Her Majesty...I'm putting this card in for two challenges, The Artistic Stamper - Red White & Blue & Sunday Stampers wk 208 - Her Majesty...

...hope your all having a wonderful Jubilee weekend, thankyou for stopping by today...
