PEOPLE PAINT & PEOPLE POWER

...we cannot all do great things in the world but we can do small things with great love...

...hello everyone, today I'd like to share with you something rather special...

...in the photo below is an amazing lady called Jane, she has been a dear friend of mine for the past 25years and this year she will be running the London Marathon in aid of SeeAbility...living in Eastbourne, SeeAbility is right on our door step, with a base a few miles along the coast at Seaford...

...at present SeeAbility covers most of Southern England...they are a specialist registered charity supporting people who have multiple disabilities, including visual impairment, learning and physical disabilities, mental health difficulties, acquired brain injury and life limiting conditions...

...we held a fundraising weekend (22nd/23rd March) at Favaloso our local Ice Cream Parlour...a wealth of local businesses gave generously to the prize fund for the raffle,  we made cupcakes galore and a spot of face painting for the kids!...

...also running the Marathon alongside Jane will be Poppy, she is pictured below...

...Poppy's parents who own Favaloso were more than delighted to host the charity event...

...yes Simon Cowell had to get in on the act too! courtesy of Steve Hewlett who was a Britain's Got Talent contender in 2013 and got as far as the semi finales! he popped down to lend his support for an hour or two with some of his best loved puppets!...

...we'd painted some plain white beads with the SeeAbility logo, to be used as friendship bands or necklaces...

...for this we used DecoArt tradition paints and sealed them with triple thick (not shown)...

...then the fun began with the face painting, when DecoArt heard of the charity event they very generously sent from America a box full of people paints in a whole array of bright colours to play with...

...the people paints are just like markers pens and allow for greater precision and are a lot simpler than a brush...

...Sally and Sandy in action...

...the kids loved this, and for those who didn't have the time to stay for a face paint, a hand paint was just the ticket...

...such concentration!...

...from monsters and ogre's to hello kitty...

...the kids loved the paint pens, a cool and mess free time was had by all, thank you DecoArt for making this happen...

...it was a wonderful, fun filled two days...peoples kindness and generosity were in abundance...from the sale of the raffle tickets, the cup cakes and the face painting we  raised £1700.00 ...an amazing amount which will help ease the lives of others less fortunate than ourselves, people power makes it happen :) it doesn't matter how great or small, it ALL counts...

...many thanks to local amateur photographer Darren Waller who captured the event with some cool piccy's...

...thank you for stopping by today...
