ONE FOR THE BOYS

...sorry i've been AWOL these past few days...I paid a visit on Tuesday to a fellow blogger & attached to her site was a virus, my whole computer went into meltdown :( ...I got it back late yesterday and 3 years of my life was gone, all my writing work, my personal photo collection & all my blog photo's all gone...I could of cried, it's my own silly fault I should of had all this info backed up! still you live & learn eh & I missed woyww too :( & I'd made my ATC's...

...anyways I have been busy today making a Tag & cheering myself up, there are two Challenges I'll be putting it in for...

...the base for this Tag is from Tim's Ideaology papers...I used water colour paper for the embossing folder, the inks are Squeezed Lemonade & Frayed Burlap...

...which I went over with the water brush...

...of course my Dad is number one...

...this is the mini version of Old Jalopy & he's rather cute, just perfect for a Tag or an ATC...he was covered in Black Soot then embossed , set upon a road of washer's & his smoke is garden wire...

...loVe the sun rays coming out from behind the car, my Dad will loVe this he's mad about cars...

...I'm putting this Tag in for:

...thank you for dropping by today...

  1. Oh Mel that is just awful to lose so much - I could cry for you. Sending a virtual hug (). I just checked when you visited my site and left your lovely comment as I hope it wasn't me. I don't back anything up either.

Your tag is beautiful and what a great way to use the new Squeezed Lemon on a masculine tag! You always have such great ideas. I love all the elements they work so well together especially all the washers. A great piece of work and I bet your Dad will love it!

    Enjoy the holiday weekend x

  2. Oh noes Mel, how awful firstly to get a virus but then to lose 3 years of personal 'stuff' is hard to take in, no wonder you cried, I would of done too, still there's nothing you can do about it, apart from do a back up on a regular basis!!!

Fabulous tag, love all your T!mmy goodness going on with it. the little car is fab isn't it, I use it quite a lot, like you say, just the right size.

  3. Gosh that's terrible. Like Jennie I've just checked when you visited my site and left your comment (Wednesday) and am crossing my fingers it wasn't mine either (although I have got a full antivirus system on the laptop and the PC as we've had this ourselves before).
Your tag is beautiful, so much lovely detail. Good luck with both of the challenges. Hugs, Buttons x

  4. Hi Mel, when you visited me earlier I wanted to look through all my old comments and try to give you back some of your photos, but then I was scared that the virus might still be there. I feel for you, it is awful. I do back up but not often enough, so there is a lesson in there for me too. I use AVG which is a free service providing cover, if you don't have any at the moment you might want to use them until you decide longer term what to do. Love, love, love your tag, it is fabulous and a great way to use the squeezed lemonade. Anne x

I do hope it wasn't me with the virus, but I haven't seen anything strange at my computer.

I would like to ask you something, will you please mail me? Thank you so much!

  22. I personally don't think it's too late to join WOYWW. I'm still visiting people and will for several days.

Believe me, I know how frustrating a virus can be. I decided to back my art and files up offsite. It is so helpful to know I can retrieve it any time I need it, as long as I can access my programs.

Your Dad is going to LOVE that tag. It is so clever and original. I had to laugh when I saw "DAD" because it reminded me of those candles you can buy to put on birthday cakes. At least you can buy things like that in the States.

Have a glorious weekend. Just remember, all those problems are now behind you and you can breathe again.

  23. Oh no, how horrible to lose all that stuff! I sure hope it was not my blog. Sam at HettieCraft had let me know that ShabbyBlogs was having some problems so I have changed from them to another background.
On the upside, your tag looks fabulous! Great use of the spring as exhaust!

  26. Hi Mel, so sorry to hear that you lost all your files. I had that problem 2 weeks ago, luckily didnt lose anything, but now I back everything up on Carbonite. I sent you an email a few days ago to get your address to send your ATC to you that we planned to swap. You can email me at kingb52@comcast.net to give me the info, it's all ready to go.
    Love the tag, great details.

  27. This is great Mel - love that jalopy, splash of yellow and cluster of washers! Thanks so much for joining us for the Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge! Sarah. I do hope you can get the computer sorted....sometimes it is retrievable - just need to find a real whizz retrieval expert who knows how to swim through the system as a computer can never get rid of things...it just moves them. You never know....
