INSPIRED BY SUMMER DISTRESS

...creativity is the greatest rebellion in existence...
- Osho -

...hello everyone...over at Simon Says Stamp & Show they are asking for us to Be Inspired by Summer Distress...well it just so happens I have put the finishing touches to a shabby chic piece I've been working on which has these very colours in it...

...I painted this lump of wood with a thick cream emulsion then went over it with a crackle medium then again with the cream emulsion which i'd watered down by 20% it bring the crackle through more this way...

...onto randomly torn regular brown packing paper the home sweet home sentiment was written by hand with black ink and edged with pickled raspberry...

...the papers used to make up these sweet little houses are mainly from my minds eye and basic grey, the rest is from my stash...

...a close up of the little randon torn hearts...

...this shot shows the colour of the ink a bit better (I really must invest in a better camera) but still not to their vibrant best...salty ocean is one of the nicest blues Tim has created, it is heavenly & mowed lawn is much more vibrant...
...my Daughter is 38 weeks pregnant with my first Grandchild and I have made this piece for  the nursery...

...I had fun making this stand alone piece, I hope you like it...
...thank you for dropping by today, a big thank you to my followers old and new for being here and your encouraging words...

HAPPY MAIL - SWAP

...hello everyone, today i'm sharing with you some Happy Mail that was waiting for me on my return from work today...
...a little while back I asked Chris aka the Sketching Stamper if she would be up for a swap, well to my delight she said yes and suggested we make three items: a Tag, an ATC & a Postcard (4 by 6)...we have both made and received our our swaps so without further ado here is what Chris has made for me...

...Chris has indulged my loVe of hearts & made this awesome tag...

...the colours are so vivid, my camera does not do this Tag justice, I'm not sure on the full ingredients used but there will be a rundown over on Chris's Blog I'm sure...

...this heart is lush!...

...Chris has used Acrylic paint, stencils and image transfer onto postcard sized watercolour paper with tissue tape edges all sprayed with a matt sealer...

...the texture is amazing and the colours stunning...

...this gorgeous ATC was made using Tim Holtz distress ink markers directly onto the stamp, then sponged over with distress ink onto speciality paper...
...pop over and take a browse through Chris's amazing blog it is jam packed with inspiring posts http://sketchingstamper.blogspot.co.uk/ ...

...and if your not to tired here is what I made for Chris...

...for the ATC I used the Summer colours by Tim and the mini movers & shapers clock...

...time flies so these crackle wings were perfect...

...Chris had admired my mini dressform ATC so I decided to replicate it for her onto postcard size and added glass beads to the wire dress...

...salty ocean comes alive under the crackle distress...

...for the Tag I seem to of gone a tad crackle crazy!...the base is PaperArtsy fresco paint with matt crackle and the heart is crackle distress...

...I followed the wired theme through on the heart...

...well thats my three pieces for Chris and as a thankyou I made an extra Tag for her...

...well if your here you must surely need a cup of tea by now! thankyou for dropping by I hope you've enjoyed the piccy's as much as I have loVed being part of this swap...much loVe to my crafty friend the Sketching Stamper...

...live the full life of the mind, exhilarated by new ideas, intoxicated by the romance of the unusual...
- Ernest Hemingway -

...hello everyone...today I'm sharing with you an ATC I have made using the movers & shapers mini dress form...I decided to dress this mini form in wired couture, I hope you like it...

...I took a plain white ATC & added a drop of salty ocean distress ink & edged it in walnut...

...into the steampunk embossing folder then crackled with rock candy...

...the mini form had a light dusting of pumice stone, then a heavier second coat around the edges...

...a wired gown nipped at the waist & a wooden heart in barn door...

...I had fun with this little ATC & mini dress form...Armani eat your heart out, wire is the new black!...
