BINGO

...creativity takes courage...
- Henri Matisse -

...hello everyone...today I'm sharing with you a Tag I've made using one of Tim Holtz mini texture fades embossing folders...these mini folders are great & are designed especially with ATC's in mind...

...I've also been experimenting some what, trying to get that old rusting plate look...I'm kinda happy for my first go, anyways see what you think, here it is...

...I covered the tag with frayed burlap distress ink, then randomly stamped around the edges with my brand new first ever Tim Holtz stamp set (named Joyful Song) ...

...this bingo ticket is glassine paper, I scrunchled up the edges, then put in the embossing folder, randondomly applied opaque embossing powder, then proceeded to rub in brown, green & black chalk...

...I was hoping to achieve various stages of patina, a few more goes & I'll be there, for the letters I used a bit of gold rub...

...I made a small gnarly flower from stamped tissue paper, added some wire fronds and a wee wooden heart...

...I've added the words 'take a chance on me'...

...thankyou for for stopping by, I hope you've had a wonderful day...

FREE SPIRIT

...things work out best for those who make the best of the way things are...
- Barbara Johnson -

...hello everyone today I'm sharing with you a Tag that had started out life with a heart & wings  but I had to think quickly to change it completely as un-beknown to me it was almost identicle to a fellow crafters !...

...I have embossed the tag with the tall trees & the sun ray folders..

...the sun rays have been shaded with Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink & then hand sewn with yellow thread through the rays to add depth, the sky is Tumble Glass...

...I inked some tissue paper with Peeled Paint then stamped randomly with one of Tim's stamps in Timber Brown Stazon to get the effect of branches...I then put the crumpled tissue through the tall trees embossing folder and carefully pulled away at the outline & glued that on top of to give the trees a 3D look & again add depth...

...the Fawn has been shaded in Frayed Burlap, over & over for depth of colour,...

...the flowers & fronds are Tim's Distress Paper with center buttons
...I'm putting this Tag in for two challenges...

...thank you for dropping by today...

12 TAGS of 2012: JUNE

...do what you can with what you have where you are...
- Theodore Roosevelt -

...hello everyone, hope you've all had a happy crafting weekend...today I'm sharing with you my take on Tim's Tag for June...it's going to be a brief posting as my weekend has been most eventful and I'm way behind, a Son with a 2 day temperature of 40' a weird rash & a trip to the Hospital, then lots of nursing the good old fashioned way of cooling flannels...gosh even at the age of 25 the worry continue's...anyways here is my Tag...

...I admit this tag was very rushed & could of been a lot better but inbetween paracetamo'ls & mop downs time and my energy were little so lots of improvisation again and the name plate is actually fine grade sand paper! as is the tiny tab, I make use of everything I can...

...thankyou for dropping by today, a big hello to my new followers...have a wonderful week everyone, & enjoy what your doing where ever you are...

INK HEART

...it is the marriage of the soul with nature that makes the intellect fruitful, and gives birth to imagination...
- Henry David Thoreau -

...hello everyone today i'm sharing with you a wooden block, which can hang or stand alone, I've been waiting for the right piece of wood to come along so I could make this piece, it is picture heavy but I wanted you to see the textures...

...I first painted this block of wood with a chalky white emulsion then added a fine crackle finish, I had to do this 3 times in random area's to get the effect I was looking for...

...once I was happy I then went around the edges with Frayed Burlap, Walnut & Black Soot Distress Inks pushing into the paint, especially in the cracks...

...the layers of crackle give different effects...

...the faux leather straps are held in place with upholstery nails, I had to drill the holes first as these nails are long...

...this plywood heart has had many layers of ink, Barn Door & Black Soot and crackle medium in random patches, again layered...

...I made the wire mesh from scratch with a thick gauge galvanised wire & secured it in place upholstery staples...here is a pick of the mesh before I attached it...

...I'm obsessed with hearts and pleased with the result of this one, I hope you like it...
...I'm putting this in for...

STARS & STRIPES

...creativity is a drug I cannot live without...
- Cecil B Demille -
- 1881-1959 -

...hello everyone, we have a blustery yet sunny day here on the South Coast of England which is also happens to be Father's Day...

...the Tag I've made today is totally different from what I've done before, I started with no real idea in my head other than I wanted a heart somewhere and this is where it lead me...

...I stamped tissue paper with music notes then covered the lot in Barn Door DI, heat dried then tore in random strips which I glued to my tag, I followed the edges with some blue chalk, then lightly dusted over the entire tag with Pumice Stone DI...

...the stars were cut freestyle and coated in Star Dust Stickles...the hanger is garden jute & I added a star charm...

...I covered a wooden heart with the remainder of the stamped tissue and gave that lashings of Barn Door DI, then added a sentiment...

...the wings were given a light coating of off white emulsion paint the crackle glazed in matt, the tips in Walnut...

...I can't make my mind up about this tag at all but I'm happy with the wings!...loVe it or hate it your opinions would be nice...
...wishing you all a wonderful day what ever your up to...

PRETTY in PINK

...she stood in the storm and when the wind did not blow her way, she adjusted her sails...
- Elizabeth Edwards -

...today I'm sharing with you A Tag I was so hoping to of finished yesterday, but nothing was going my way, something was missing...do you ever get those times when you say right thats it & you have to walk away from your desk?..

...well this afternoon it all flowed and my 'missing'  came straight to me, a butterfly!...

...I've tried to use as much pink as possible without a total overload, the base is varying degrees of Spun Sugar with splashes of Victorian Velvet...

...the butterfly has been embossed & shaded with my chalks, the body is fine pink cord that was gathered & the ends are the antenna...

...a sizzix flower inked with button...

..a Tattered Florals Flower with Perfect Pearls & a pink brad...

...this tag is hand torn, the ink is mop ups of Victorian Velvet & the sentiment from a set of Whimsy Stamps called Time Flies...

...underneath the flowers & butterfly is a large Flourish with an added Swirl inked in Walnut...

...the hanger is  left over Cath Kidston material, it's so pretty with an added pearl droplet...I'm putting this Tag in for Fussy & Fancy=Florishes & swirls (hope I've made it in time) & also Hel's Sunday Stampers=Pretty in Pink

...thank you for taking time & dropping by today, your comments mean a lot to me & that your following my humble little blog...

...the background paper is from Tim's Idea-ology pad, which was subtly inked with Tumbled Glass, the cage was inked in the same & had a variety of embossing powders randomly added & heated...

... various cogs n washers were added, some embossed some just inked...

...this bird (not sure if a Crow or a Rook?) was inked in Black Soot then embossed & given a beady eye, which is a black crystal earring! these birds always seem have beady watching eyes...

...instead of ribbon I have chosen some fine pliable jewellry wire as the hanger for this Tag...

...this is a Tim Holtz sentiment inked onto torn white card brushed over with Frayed Burlap...

BLUE BROWN BLING

...some people look for a beautiful place, others make a place beautiful...
- Hazrat Inayat Khan -

...hello everyone today I'm sharing with you a card that was made as part of our monthly swap over at May's...the theme this month was blue, brown & bling...

...I've used Tim's Heart Wings Die for this project, I used various blues in watercolour for the background then added a square of plastic (the Die packaging) & secured it in place with some small silver brads which I wrapped fine jewellry wire around to create a frame...

...I embossed the heart in aged silver & added chipped glitter...

...loVe this heart...

...I double layered the wings, the base wing is grunge board inked with walnut and randomly coated in glossy accents, the top wing is glassine paper again coated in walnut & scrunchled and left rough, attached by a staple...

...this is such a versatile Die & the glassine paper gives good effect, I hope you like :) ...

...thank you for dropping by today, your comments mean a lot to me...
